Why o why o why...
I've been in reef tanks for a few years now and just don't understand it. Came home after work to feed my fish and the six line wrasse was MIA. My lil female anthias is swimming around by one of my powerheads all in a tizzy but proceeds to act normal and eat when I put in some food. Still no wrasse, figured he might be in the rocks scavenging somewhere but nothing...
Then I notice it, one of my oscillating powerheads is moving back and forth slower than the other and I had just taken them completely apart and cleaned them the other day. I hold out hope, maybe he's still in the rocks, he's gonna come out for some food I just know it...
Nope, I take the powerhead off the holder and sure enough he's up in the tube sucked right up against the intake grill. This fish was in PERFECT health last night. Quarantined him and everything and he goes and commits suicide probabaly just looking for a nice spot to hole up for the night even though there's plenty of rock for that. This only happended to me once before with a juvenile clownfish...
I'm figuring that once they get up in there they say of $#@%, I can't swim back out of here...
Anyone else have this issue w/ fish and powerheads before? I could understand if they were sick, died and got sucked in there but that's just not the case.
