I tried this in the newbe fourm with no response, so I 'll try here.

I plan to have live rock, fish and some soft corals in a 125 or 135 tank. Not really going for the full reef. I have several questions. Since it is not a full reef should I go with a wet/dry, or still do a sump refugium. If so, how big does it need to be, what kind of flow, and how would it be set up. I have looked at the CPR pro refuge and I like the streamlined setup. Could some people post pics, or diagrams of their sumps so I can plan my set-up. Thanks in advance.

If you're going to have live rock in the system don't bother with the wet/dry IMO. Get a good skimmer like an ASM and between that and the rock/sand you should have all the filtration you need.

A sump doesn't have to be anything fancy - many use small glass aquariums because they are cheap. If you use a submersible return pump and get a reef ready tank you don't have to worry about drilling anything which makes for a pretty simple setup. If you want to get a nice acrylic one, by all means do so, but you can get away a lot cheaper if you want to.

If you do a search here I think you'll find quite a bit of info/pics/sketches on sump setups.
