can you over skim just woundering because, i just bought a new one corallife needle wheel rated for 125 gallons but only have a 90 is this a prob. thanks in advance. ps it is a awsome skimmer

some people say you can over skim but i dont think so myself. the natural reefs are a lot more nutrient poor so i would skim heavily and then add back elements that are skimmed out with stuff like bionic.

your skimmer wont overskim your tank. skimmer ratings are random. i have seen your coralife, i think it is a good skimmer for tanks up to 100 gallons and probably best for tanks around 75 gallons even if it is rated for 125 gallons.

Personally I do not think so. The only things that will gets skimmed out are those that stick to the air to water inteface of the bubbles. AFAIK that is only organics, like fish poop. On my 150 I have a skimmer rated for 250.
