Has anyone modded their coralife super skimmer 65 so that the pump is about 2 inches below the water. If so do you have any pics and how well did it effect it?

Is this mod suppose to improve performance? At only 2" below the surface of the water, I can speculate the main difference is the skimmer's pump will draw in some air into the intake from the water's surface.
not really trying to change the performance len, but the instructions say to place the pump 8 inches down in the tank. doint that in my 10 gallon it will sit on the sand bed. I would like to put the pump higher without effecting the performance of the skimmer. Make sense ? Thanks
Ah. 2" higher will not effect its operation. If it's too close to the surface, it may start sucking in air. Adjusting so it takes water from halfway down should be perfectly fine.
