Need to tie somthing... what to use?

there you go. i want to try and tie a saftey line to my third powerhead (held on by suction cups). i am thinking fishing line, but of course don't have any handy, or dental floss.

what is the feeling on dental floss? waxed matter you think?

gut reaction is; don't use it, and yes.

but it's so damn tempting....

I wouldn't use it - well, maybe you could boil the wax off of it.

Cut a strip out of pantyhose or just go buy some line.

agreed, cable ties found in any hardware store are perfect.

you could also cable tie the powerhead to a strong magnetic glass scraper to hold it in-place as well.

Let me geuss, Aquamedic powerheads....Its a common problem with them. I have 3 and I've had to attach them to cleaning magnets to keep em in place, a word of caution though, make sure you use powerful mags, they will move around otherwise.

Plastic zip ties (the ones with no metal release tabs) work well.
