I ordered a Sequence Snapper (2400gph) and recieved a Sequence Dart (3600gph) today in the mail. I'm planning to use it on a CL for a 75g Reef with mostly SPS. My return pump on my refugium is going to end up flowing around 500gpm so it needs to be added to the turnover rate. I was going to run the Snapper through a Oceans Motions 4-way flowing to 2 large outlets at any time, the flow will be high but hopefully the velocity will be toned down.

My question is the Dart going to be way to much flow for the tank, will it be ok to valve it back some or will that generate more noisie and consume more electricity or should I send it back for an exchange. These pumps appear to lose alot of flow with just a small amount of head pressure.

I cant agree with ChrisRD more. I would use the OM 4 way with all four outlets to give the flow more variance too. The sequence pumps are made to use less electricity if you choke them back. At least that is what is says in my barracuda brochure.

If you got it for the Snapper price, consider it an early Christmas present:) Run that thing wide open, your SPS will love it. I've got an OM Super Squirt on my SPS 150. I would have the 4way if I had the room.

Awesome, Thanks for the reassurance guys, I got it for my birthday. As far as the 4way I meant a Version 3 Drum that flows out 2 outlets at any given time I can't think of any reason one would ever plug an outlet .

Good thinking. That is how I run my barracuda/OM super squirt on the 120. I actually have four loc lines per side. If you read the last page of my tank thread you may get a couple ideas that you havent thought of.
