They're virtually indistinguishable most of the time. Some P.miles have more webbed/frilly fins (particularly on the pectoral fins) then P.volitans, but that's about it. You need to know where they were collected from (Indian Ocean is P.miles, Pacific is P.volitans). Just about everything we see availabe in the Americas is P.volitans.
