The dimensions are 16" x 18"...any ideas on what to use that doesn't necessitate me buying a custom made tank to fit in there?

Standard 10 doesn't fit. It's 20" long. :(

Any idea whether they make a canopy? I'd like to put some return plumbing above the tank and hide it along with a light fixture.

i just put the sump on the side. easier to maintain that way.
i like looking around. not elegant, but it works.

take a look at my sump for my Oceanic 30 in the members tank spec, "the tank of jt48"
I had acrylicman found on ebay and reef central build a sump/refugium that fits perfectly. Yes it was custom made but I only paid $166

a 10 hex should fit.

I built an acrylic for a guy. It was about $150 if I remember.

Your best bet is custom, or finding a tupperware at the container store that will fit.

I just happen to be close to the makers of TruVu. They're building me one that will fill up every inch of the stand. 16 x 18 x 12, around 15 gallons filled. Eurobraced acrylic with a filter sock holder in the corner.

$63 when I pick it up in person. I don't think I'm going to beat that. :D

Looks good!

I'm going to be doing something very similar. I'm putting my overflow box on the outside of the tank, and drilling a 14" wide slot with teeth in the tank to catch the water. The returns will go up and over inside a canopy and be pointed at the rockwork (rather than at the front wall.)

What size pump you running?
