Octopus skimmers?

Hello and happy holidays to you all My question is a simple one, and I hope someone here can share some information with me. Is anyone using one of the Octopus skimmers in their setup? How about ASM? I am curious about these skimmers, yet I haven't heard much about them. I am up in the air between the TUNZE nano, the aqua-c remora (nano), and the ASM mini G skimmer.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!

I have heard that the aqua c remora is a good skimmer. I have a ev-240 on a 90 gal and it works great. I know that is not the same style but it is that same equipment. Go to the site http://www.proteinskimmer.com/ and fill out a survey they might pick you as a winner for their nest drawing. Also just check things out a little.

I have used the ASM skimmers. the are good. my buddy just got a octopus nw-200. the thing rocks. better build quality than the ASM.

but you can get a jeff exoctic fish skimmer. a Euro-reef copy. OUTSTANDING quality for a very competive price....

you really can't go wrong with a euroreef style needlewheel.

how big of a tank is the skimmer going on? maybe we can give you a few suggestions?

<-- Just purchased an Octopus 150 Recirc. After a 2 week break in it is performing great. Before this skimmer I had a Remora HOT. The Octopus produces far more skimmate than the HOT did. They are well made of heavy cast acrylic, and to my untrained eye don't have any real problematic faults. For the price I'm of the opinion that you can't beat an Octopus.

Recommended? Yes.

ps. I had a bugger of a time getting mine from www.octopusskimmer.com (also www.marinesolutions.com). It took over a MONTH from purchase date. Great skimmer, but I would HIGHLY recommend going with www.premiumaquatics.com Their prices are only a few $ higher, and they actually have ppl answer the phone when you call with a question or to check on your order.
