When I bought my tank, it came with a custom built skimmer from Coral Connection. I couldn't seem to figure out how to tune it in. The guy I bought it from told me it took about a week to tune in. After 3 weeks, I gave up and bought a new skimmer.

It looks simular to that one.

B, it's 300 bucks plus a pump (if you go with a Quiet One 4000HH, for example http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant ... e=quietone ) it'll cost you an extra 90 bucks. That's almost $400.

Consider Octopus skimmers: This http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catal ... ucts_id=46 for $100. Or a bit bigger http://www.marinesolutionsinc.com/catal ... ucts_id=47 for $125.

Furthermore, an Euro Reef http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem. ... uct=ER1414 for $180.

Or go with an Urchin pro (with the mag 3) http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem. ... duct=ACUPB for $230.

Just some options for ya! :P

I definitely wouldn't go with that. Expensive, looks iffy, and no info online (that I can find, at least)!! :D What caught your eye about this one? The color?!

Ask LA-Lawman!

what kind of shtuff is going on here......:)

i guess i am the skimmer guy... ;)

i have a bone yard of skimmers so i guess you can ask me. the trigger systems skimmer is pretty much a basic beckett design. nothing fancy. I have heard the service they give is outstanding.

most of the beckett skimmers perfomr similarly.

best bang for the buck is a needlewheel or now the new threadwheels from ATI. These bubblemaster skimmers look promising.

I hear alot of good things from the octopus line. my buddy has one and loves it.

i go thru skimmers alot. it is just a gadget to me. I havent found the best yet. i think might try a bubblemaster. I cant get a large octopus in my stand....

Thanks LA

I was wondering about the octapus. I noticed it is VERY similar in design to some other more expinsive skimmers.
