i purchased a fairy wrasse on Saturday.
Wrasse was aclimiated for approx 1/2 hr. Wrasse was very timid for approx the first 1 1/2; 2 hrs. The wrasse is now in a hole in the bottom of one of my rocks. The is alive and occasionaly will take food. At times when looking into the whole in rock the fish appears to be coverd / surronded by this mucus film.
Should I remove the wrasse ASAP or is this a normal behavior for a possible stressed wrasse.
All paramaters of the take are fine. All other fish and corals are doing great.
Tank size: 90 gallons.
Thank you for your help

This is normal for a wrasse to sleep in a mucus cocoon.

+1.

Totally normal for fairy wrasses to hide in the rocks for a few days. Best thing to do is leave it be and don't disturb the tank at all. He'll be fine if he doesn't eat a whole lot for the next few days.
