Hello fellow reefers....

I'd like to point your attention to a least used aspect of RDO, but one that can help you just as much as the forums themselves, the IRC service that is provided. It's simple, our IRC channel is dying a slow death these days.

We need your help, when i joined this place 4 or 5 years ago IRC was a hopping place of fun and great information. Over the years we're slowly dying due to the regulars leaving for whatever reasons.

These days we hardly see many new people from the forums, we need your help. We want to bring the channel back to it's glorious past and a equally prosperous future.

You can get information from the following link...

If any non computer savvy people need help feel free to msg me.

Regards,
Joe W

I'm there most of the day :) Come!

IRC is an old and declining medium, but it's still a really great way to interact with fellow reefkeepers. While #reefs might be slowing down like the rest of IRC, it's still the most popular/active reef-related chatroom 8)

IRC is a nice medium, it allows interaction in a real-time basis, however there in lies the problem as well, if someone isn't there to see your question it's not "open" for anyone to respond. Not to mention when I was young and in college sure I had the time to spend in front of a computer ina chatroom waiting for someone to say something, now? time is lacking :(

Well, most of us are lurkers throughout the day ;) If you have a 24/7 connection, you can just sit there and read/chat when you feel like it.

Exactly, most of the time you can get a answer from someone. And the more people we get back on the train the more will be available to help.

IMO that's the worst thing I hated about IRC were lurkers who left their connections on 24/7, you come into a channel full of people, and like "hey guys".... *crickets*.
