It's a Pinapple or Q-Tip sponge.

AH, a sponge heh? I would not have guessed. A local species, since I also have them and seeded my tank from the Atlantic near by.

+1 on the pineapple sponge. Dont know where they come from...i get them from time to time and hear they are signs of good water quality
