Hi MR -

I noticed this strange coloration along the edges of my acrylic tank (220 gal). Is this the seams coming apart? Any ideas on why this could be?

It's not algea or anything of that sort. Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately I think is. I’ve had them on my tank for many years, but they haven’t gotten any larger. I also have a third piece of acrylic strip reinforcing every seam so I’m not too concerned. If there are any acrylic manufacturers who have any ideas how to repair these with Weldon etc…without taking the seams apart it would be greatly appreciated.

Keep on eye on that. There are ways to reinforce it from the outside of the tank but it won’t be pretty. Once water comes through the seam, there is no way of patching it wet.
