how do you clean up you hermit crab poop?

Is it me, or do they literally sh*t al over your sand floor? I have strands of their poo all over the place... how do you guys 2 clean it up? I have only TWO hermit crabs, but they are literally tearing my whole place up. It's digusting.

U can have the hermits find a new home, but there is no way you can really clean it up besides blowing it off with a powerhead and hopefully you have some filtration that iwll suck it up.

get a sand sifting star and a bunch of nassarius snails or you can siphon them out

Siphoning is really painful (I use a small one so it doesn't suck up as much water). The poop is heavy enough that it doesn't go through the siphon.

It looks like its .5 - 1 centimeter long, its dark green, and it looks like tube (cylinder shape).

I only have a clown and a tang, and I don't think these guys are the culprit.

Of all the times I've seen the tang poo, it's lighter in nature, and dissolves into the water pretty instantly.

Agree, hermit crap poop is white and tang poop is dark green :splitspin

What your describing is like my tangs poop, my star seems to clear it up.

just tell them to make sure and wipe after they are done, how big of a tank do you have and is could also be spagetti worms

Maybe you could put like a fish litter box that way is all together and easier to siphon.

You can try sea cucumbers too, I have one in my tank and he seems like a sea earthworm to me. He eats the sand and poops it out in clumps all clean and after a little while the clumps break and it's clean sand. I never noticed any crab poop though lol

Dont worry my tangs eat their own poop i never have to feed them :lol2:

Its a 58 gallon, and I don't think it's worms. It's just laying there, annoying the heck out of me.

Fish litter box? Sea cucumbers?

Any other suggestions?
