so i have a 36x24x12 inch tank (24 inch deep) and 2x175 W MHs and 2X55 CFs. On one hand i've heard that the clams should be on the bottom but on the other that the more light is better. It would be nicer on the bottom but I'm scared that 2 feet of water is too deep for the light to penetrate.

advice?

thanks,
k

depending the size of your clam. if under 3" it will need some feedin so placement is not so much an issue. no matter where u place it, it will try to move to a spot it likes. whats more important is to make sure its stable if place on rockwork n not b disturb by u or other animals. if lighting is an issue, it will over extend its mantle toward the lighting n color gradually turn pale.
