Question of Rio water pumps

I?m looking for some help. I have read in these varieties of posts that the Rio water pump from time to time has some sort of stray electric. I like to know of other?s experiences with regard to the Rio water pump and their opinions.

You might of heard of other horror stories involving the Rio but it's not a bad pump.I'm running a 1400 for my skimmer.

How long have you been ruuning it?

I had been planning a Rio 1700 or a 2100 until I read something several weeks ago and now I cannot find it. So looking for advice which I seem to be getting.

the older rio pumps with the 2 prong connection had stray electricity issues, the newer rios with the 3 prong connection supposedly solved those issues, i still use my older 1700 for mixing water and used the 800 for phosban reactors with no issues.

I believe they sell a ground probe to keep the tank grounded.
