AQUA C EV 180 skimmer?

If anyone has an Aqua c 180 skimmer ,,how is it working for you ,,
i have one ,and ever since i got it ,,i think im a slave to it ,,,i never really play with ,,i have it installed 4 or 5 inch above the water level in my refuge,
the out take where the gate vavle is draining through a blukhead that was drilled 4 or 5 inchs above water level ,,
A..i have cleaned all the parts
B..change the pump to a sen 7 ,froma mag 7
C.. water level is where it needs to be ,,

i have spoken to the owner or mang at Aqua c ,,he tell me to raise my skimmer 4 more inches from wher eit is now ,,does anyone have a pic of how they installed it ,,and how is it working ,do you get good skimmate out of it

PS ,,They are very helpfully at Aqua C ,,Aqua C is going to send me a new injector and air vavle ,if tht doesnt work then maybe a replacemnet skimmer ,,so of that i do appreciate wha they are doing ,,but can seem to understand why it not working well ,

I actually have a EV-120, and its a monster! I decided to get that skimmer with great success with the remora. But anywaysss for your problem, how long have you had the skimmer running? I was a slave to my ev 120 for about a week, and its good now. Lemme get your email addie and ill send you pics of how i have it setup. I attached an elbow so the water deposits straight into a fuge with minimal disturbance. also do you have your air valve opened all the way? when i had this problem, some chick at aquac told me to tune down the pump with a ball valve. dont know if this helps. . .?

hed for a year or less ,having this prob seens i got it ,been on the phone with marine depot and now aqua c ,,,believe me i have it hooked up the right way ,
not ot much on installing the aqua c ,

Have you tried closing the gate valve a bit and raising the internal water level to bring your foam up?

yeah ,,ive done everything ,,,shut gate vavle ,a bit to raise water level in the skimmer ,cleaned air vavle ,injector ,clear the riser chamber,collection cup ,,
changed the pump think it was the pump ,,
i thnk im just goingot wait till aqua c sends me a new injector and air vavle ,,if that doesnt work ,tell send me a new skimmer

thats funny i had mine hooked up like that before i changed my bio balls to a refuge ,,and the company told me i had it hooked up worng ,,funny huh

Bro, this bad boy has been filling up a gallon bottle half way of the smelliest, darkest foul crap you'll ever see in just 3-4 days! The thing I dont like about these skimmers is tat they are ultra sensitive, when i feed or make additions or even put my hand in the water, it ceases to make any foam. are you using stress coat or anything like that?

mag 5 (i kno about the rust problem, but aquac said its the best pump to use on the ev 120)

yup ,,it seems you have the out take in the water ,,not draining above ,,,your elbow is under water level ,,,Aqua C said to me it it creates and suction or something to the skimmeer

I think you should just fiddle around with it, these guys are giving contradictory advice. Try opening the air valve all the way, and the drain hose on the collection cup, leave it open (meaning no drain hose connected to it). if you leave tat open youll feel the air pushing out of the cup. see if that works.

I think, it produce back pressure if skimmer's drainage is submerged into water. And it changes water level of skimmer. I am running EV240 with panworld 100px. I was almost six month slave to this skimmer. After I change the water pump and put tee instead of elbow, it seems working now. But still I am not sure I am getting the most out of it. Still a slave to this thing.

Hey Ronen, did you try with bigger pump? I've been struggling with dolphin1200 and eversince I change it with panworld, it works much better. You can always draw back water with gatevalve.
