I have the oceanic 70 gallon tech series and was wondering is it better to have the heater in my sump or inside the overflow box,Does one offer more of a advantage over the other or is it the same ? Thank for any info

I have the same question. I was planning on putting 2X 200W heaters in the internal overflow box. Is this a good idea??

Edit: I use an ACJr. Would I have to keep the tem probe in the same location as the heater? My sump has a nice probe holder..

I keep my heaters with my return pump and no I would not keep a temp probe next to a heater

i put my heaters in the sump because i would rather they be in a place with higher flow.

In my overflow the area below the durso standpipe has low flow. that is where all my sponges and other things like to grow

i also keep my heater in the sump ,i think its better ,and away from display tank.
+1, I like my display tank to have minimal equipment - which is also easier for minor adjustments and tinkering, stuff you can't help doing even if it dosen't need to be done
