i put mine in the sump theres alot of flow there and u cant see it that way. Personally i like the marineland heaters, never had any trouble with them.

Sump also. One of the reasons for a sump, to hide unsightly equipment. I like the Eheim Jager heaters. Very reliable for many years.....many (heaters) of them (in my years of usage). Nice use of the English language? :banghead:

I put my heater in the display tank. That way, if the sump return goes out or I decide to power it off for maintenance, the DT still gets heat.

Depends on the size of the tank and plumbing. I have few in the sump and one in my overflow box, just in case the return pump fails and I didn't know it for hours in a very cold night. the heater MAY warm up the 300G of water a deg or two :lol2:.

What ever you decide make sure the heaters are fully submersible there are some that are not.I got a joult from a Ebo Jager once.
