U guys know any good about maxi jet 5500??

Hello,

I think I need to upgrade my sump pump from Eheim 1060 to Maxi Jet 5500. I couldn't find any reviews on this pump.... so what do you guys think? Any good ideas? Any Pump Recommendations?

Its really NOT a maxijet - just made by marineland (same company)

We have used them on the last 3 installations we've done (90 and 2 tech 120's) and swear by them.

Great circulation, little heat and super reliable.

Euro Utility Pump is the actual branding. Much better than SEDRA IMO.

These are awesome pumps. They're cheaper than the Eheims and just as quiet and efficient, if not more so. They come with suction cups, which can be helpful in noise reduction as well. I've had mine running for a short time (only about 5 months) but haven't had any problems.

I was going to say.. I highly recommend contacting Saltwatercritters, they'll hook you up. I would talk with Russ/Jim about flow recommendations as they were really helpful w/ me. They won't steer you wrong.

Pye - the 5500 will be enough to turn over the 125g tank for sure - but depending on the length of the 125 (standard aga is 6') you will need internal supplementation to distribute the flow better. \
