Banned from a lfs!!!!!!!!

So I went to my little hidden hole in the wall LFS that is 2 1/2 hours away today. I was talking with the head guy in charge of their marine section, and as soon as I walk in the door he asks me if I will frag him a piece of my watermelon/Bazooka Joe chalice, I'm not sure which it is. I told him sure when it grows out. Then I ask him what happened to the mother colony and he told me that some scumbag came in and got it for 80 bucks from a new employee. He didn't get a chance to frag anything off of it and had decided not to sell the mother colony. He asked me if I knew who bought it, told him yes I did, and he told me he was 85% sure it was that guy. Well now he is banned from that LFS, which he deserves to be. Also on my way home I stopped at the place the guy said he bought it from. When I talked to them they told me they don't even carry chalices. Let alone one that big and never had one in their tank for 2 years, not even their display tank.

No that's a different guy, but I was informed it could be his dad, the guy told me today that he also walked out with with 2 other chalices for way below price and one was not even for sale.

Im sorry, why is the customer wrong here? If a store is willing to sell a coral below "market value", should the customer refuse to buy it?

Obviously, i only know what ive just read here, and perhaps there is alot of info missing....but seems like stores fault for not having someone there who knew about the corals.

Ok here's some more info. The other 2 corals were in a grow out tank and not for sale. The chalice we are talking about was for sale but the customer confused the new employee and got the coral for 40 less than marked for sale. The guy that bought the corals knows his stuff and took full advantage of the misfortune of the lfs having a new employee in the store. The customer was a regular in the store. So just imagine if you went into your favorite/regular shop and did this. Do you think the owner would want you back in the store?

I don't see the point of this. A customer bought a coral from a lfs so why is he banned? Btw your pic in your avatar is not a bazooka joe. Its just a common morph of a watermelon chalice.

I didn't say it was 100% a bazooka joe, some people said it might be one, I did know it was some type of watermelon though, a nice morph IMO

One its the store falt for having a new employee you dont let him sale anything without asking first thats the stores problem not the customers falt even if he new what he was doing . That just means he nows that no one there does there job right . I give him a plus for trying and getting away with it.

Not really ,if a new employee at my lfs sold me a $500 iteam for 460 I wouldnt think twice ,at all especially after spending thousands over the years but thats just me

So he 'beat' the store, and now he's banned! Not much else the LFS can do, legally he bought it...morally????????
Maybe he thinks it was worth it ...maybe he's the POS, that the store owner thinks he is!

Sorry to say it but I don't slight the customer here. They were quoted a price they liked and bought something.
If I were the buyer I would not have walked around the store and got a second or third quote. Or maybe haggled the price up so I would pay more. And I have never thought to myself, should I pay more for this? It seems too cheap.
That is the cost of doing business and another reason knowledgeable employees are so important.
