I though this took many months or years and the Anemone had to be Large. But my RBTA which i got from a cool guy on MR just split this morning. Only thing is i bought him maybe 2 months ago and was like 2-3" and yesterday it was 3-4 ". This morning i wake up to see 2 smaller Anemones close. One looks a little smaller than the other.

Is this good news?

Just cause they split, doesnt always means good. I believe they can split when they feel a threat and will split to try to save a part to live or something.

My buddy has a rose bubble tip, split 3 times within half a year... All made it, and all over 6 inches long now...

Matter a fact, mine split not even 2 weeks ago, and the original was only 3-4 inches long.

There is a species of Bubble tip that stays small, Only getting up to 5"s then splitting. But it could be a bad sign as well if it's suppose to be a larger BTA.

I am experiencing the same thing with my RBTAs also. At one point I was running two nano tanks and they kept on splitting at 4 or 5 inches. I started out with one now I have over 15 3 to 5 inch rbtas. I even sold some to someone else and they split for him also. I came to the conclusion it is not my tank but just the rbta I have. My tank parameters are good and had them under led lights and t5 at one point and they look great.

Pictures is in last post of my tank thread

Yea i feed him every day small piece of either squid, mysis or shrimp pieces, And hes under LEDs high up in the tank. Never tried to move. Always feeds. And has grown. So i hope its that he's happy. Also when i bought it from fellow MR member he had like 6 in his nano and told me they kept splitting which is why he was selling them. None of them were large. Im gonna PM him and ask him to join this thread.

Here is what the guy that sold it to me said.

Ohh..lol..remember I told you it would probably split, the largest I have is a 4-5 inch..I now have 7 anemones in my tank..lol They just keep on dividing...so I guess even in my tank they do the same thing..Im using RO./DI water with instant ocean salt mix...nothing special
