What is the average DOA percent for transhipments out of LA?

I have been considering various business ventures in the industry from LFS to local wholesaler. I just wanted to post some basic questions once in awhile that would help me with this decision. This being one of many i will probablybe asking. As a side note this forum is the best thing around for inside info. It has taken me from the "it's easy and fun" attitude to a more somber reality about the industry and some of the politics involved with it. Still i enjoy a challenge!

I am mainly concerned with corals and not fish at this time. Do corals hold up better than fish during transhipping?

Sory i just assumed. Do you do anymore transhping or no? Some transshippers offer a 100% arrive alive garuntee. Does anyone have any experiance with garuntees and what the catch to them might be.

A transhipper who offers a 100% guarantee? I do not believe such an animal exists. Shoot, I know of very few places which don't tranship and still don't offer a guarantee or partial guarantee nevermind 100%

Private message me and tell me just what place offers a 100% guarantee. I'd love to hear this!

No I do not tranship anymore. Not worth it in the least and a huge amount of stress on the critters.

I think the question was "transhipped out of LA" Not direct ,through LAX ? The issue is that direct from the islands is a 30 box min pre paid { you will get burned by overseas theifs many times}and the air freight is not part of the guarantee.........being that freight is more then the cost of the animals , most of the cost is not recoverable even with guaranteed live arrival. Even the wholesalers in LA only insure the animals NOT the freight. Good luck!
