I am new to this hobby, 60g setup Nov. 2000, anyway I just got the 9for99 corals from Jeff's Exotics and am looking for advice on attaching Colt Coral to my LR.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

i don't know if this is right or wrong, but i put a rubber band around the coral and a piece of live rock, within a couple of weeks i just cut the rubber band and presto colt was attached.

you can also use super glue (crazy glue).
Simply select the rock you want to attach the colt and pat it dry in the area of attachment. Pat dry the bottom of the colt coral and put on a drop or two. attach twisting it slightly give it 15 sec or so and place rock and coral back in water. done. colt may take awhile to open again but it's perfectly safe. i have done it many times.

If this is the colt that is very slimey and looks like a big snot tree then just put the coral on the substrate and then put a rock on top of it. I hae a 1.5 ft high colt coral that I trim and propagate this way. if it is the soft coral that look like a tree and is fairly firm then a toothpick or a rubberband might work. With the true colt it is just to slimey and slippery to use a band on. (band cuts coral in half or coral slips off of band)

I have used simple needle and thread to sew it to a small piece of live rock. After it attaches you simply cut the thread and pull it out.

I prop my colt quite often as it will over grow it's space quickly. Rubber bands work but if it is to tight you'll have two the next morning. the best is to use a needle with very fine fishing line. Thread works but is much harder to remove. Just don't tie it to tight.

IMHO crazy glue gelk is alot easier to work with than rubberbands and threads. It takes 30 seconds to attach a colt to a rock using the crazy glue method.

Use netting or a veil cut into thin strips. Then rubber band the veil to the rock. This way it doesn't cut thru the coral.
