uv helps skimmate ?

ok i read somewhere and cant find it now that running a uv and letting it drain next to your skimmer pumps people had better skimmer results. which i would tend to believe, as the water pass's through uv and drains next to skimmer pump the skimmer is catching all that is killed off and skimmed out. i am currenlty trying this as i have hooked my 9w uv up. have a little ich breakout and trying to clear some stuff up. will be treating fish today. does or has anyone tried this or seem where someone has done it. opinions or thoughts. please dont be shy to answer. no 1000 views with 1 reply:banghead:.

Don't think it'll help because detritus, like a dead copepod is just as likely to get skimmed, but isn't likely IMO. Otherwise people wont use filter socks. Skimmers will remove dissolved organics
