whats on my substrate?

A cucumber is great to maintain the tank of excess detritis but you still need to syphon out the existing detritis for fear of escalating phosphate levels... that will lead to an algae bloom...

I once put a minnow inside a pill capsule and sent him up in a Estes rocket... when he came back down... I put him back in the aqarium and he was fine....
