When I bught my birds nest coral from the LFS, the tips were rounded. Since I put it my tank it has grown and the tips have split, but they are very pointed and sharp now. What does that mean? Are pointed tips better or rounded tips. Oh, the nest was on the bottom of the tank in the store...

I went to the LFS today and they had more of those corals. It is a form a Monitpora coral, very safe. I looked up the hydnophora and it is nothing like it. Mine is stony :)

I was just wonder what is an acceptable temp change from day to night? At night/ early morning the lowest the temp gets is 78, and the highest the tank gets when the lights are on is 80. Is this an ok change or is it too much? I am thinking about adding a fan to go on during the MH light time...

Some other stuff I forgot to mention. My brown Diatom algae was coming in pretty strong. So I would leave the lights off and it would diminish a little but come back when they were on. I know with good water they will eventually go away, but I got some small blue legged hermits. It was like...

Well a quick update. The tank is about 5 weeks old. All test are good, bad stuff at 0, calcium a little high, but had nothing to use it up yet, PH is at 8.3. We added a few corals over the last couple of days. The Bio-balls are gone, and I am waiting for my refugium to be built. It will sit...
