I love my TF1000! It's fitted with an AquaBee powerhead with the "brush type" impeller. It produces a lot of bubbles and no need for an air pump. One thing you need to know on the TF1000 is that you need an powerhead that has an venturi on it. Then connect an air line to it and run it outside...
Try an AquaBee,might be hard to find but mine works great with it. No additional pumps nor air pumps to assist the TF1000. You might also see if you can find an different impeller to pump more air out of the powerhead. Mine has the "spokes" instead of the blades, this helps a lot. Blue
