  1. What is this?

I've seen something very similar in the grass flats outside Ft. DeSoto Park, FL. If it is the same thing, it is snail eggs. I've seen snails in the act of laying them.
  2. MH's distance off water surface

Yes, most Americans do genuinely believe this is the greatest country on earth. While that opinion may not be entirely objective, I don't see how it could be said to be untrue. It's merely an opinion. It should be understood that America is made up of an extremely diverse assortment of...
  3. Suggestions please

I'm not planning anything fancy, just some shrooms, leathers, feather duster worms, maybe a couple of Bangai Cardinals, etc. I would appreciate any advice concerning lighting and filtration. My LFS was using the same model...

It didn't occur to me until afterwards that you probably weren't a newbie, and would be very familiar with bristle worms. Anyway, I'd love to see a picture if you can find...
  6. slug / caterpillar thing?

Is it segmented? Your comparison to an earthworm may be telling. The annelids have many marine represenatives including bristle worms, and various types of tube worms like the "feather dusters". I used to spend a lot of time worrying about bristle worms and how to get rid of them. I was led...
  7. Snail, slug, ID please !!

Yes, definitely a limpet. The mantle is covering the shell, giving it the snail-like appearance. The only concern I would have is that the limpet's powerful radula (rasping tongue) might scratch the tank, or damage the tank's silicon joints. My suggestion would be to just keep an eye on it...
