Been dosing kalk for over 3 months. Coraline growth is blooming however my ph is 8.1 and even my alk is very low 8.6. I kalk dose 247 and make a new batch every six days. The ph out of the kalk is 12.0 however my tank seems to be very low. Any input would help.

OK, understand that vinegar helps to increase the amounts cal. I dose kalk 247, my cal reads 420, however my alk is 7.7dkh which is sort of low. Would the only way to raise my alk be to add more buffer or add more kalk. Currently adding one and a half teaspoons per gallon into a five galloon...

Have heard that people mix vinegar in with there kalk mix. Why and what does this does. Realize that it is a minamal amount, however curious to what it does.

what is the purpose of adding vinegar with your kalk. Been just using Kalk, curious about what the vinegar actually does.

looking for a reverse osmomsis system to use for my reef as well as drinking water. Do not need a large unit. My tank evaporates 6 gallons a week and my water changes are 10 gallons once a month. What company and unit is recomended? Thanx

these units will not produce enough to keep a 50 galloon 3 degrees cool. Guess the only option is a chiller. They seemed like a nice cheap way to cool the tank. Was too good to be true. Unless anyone else has tried one. Thanx

What is your experience with these chillers? Was thinking of putting one of these on a fifty gallon tank. Hoping to bring the temp down 2-3 degrees. Do these chillers work or are they for small tanks

what was wrong with your old four hundred e ballast?

Going to dose twenty four seven. Have a dosing pump for evaporated water which will be used. Know that the kalk make up water has to be fresh, will a five to seven day batch be too much?

Was wondering if dosing Kalk all day would harm any of the parameters. Was planning on mixing a batch to last for five days then dosing it via a pump for make up water. Any info would be great.
