I had the same issue. Aggressive chromis. My method: Bait and net. The net part is a b*tch. You have to lure it towards the surface with food, and with lightning speed net the little sucker. Took me three days

I have to say... I had a mag3 and it broke after 2 months. Went to petco and am so happy with the return pump I bought from them. It is very quiet. Adjustable flow. I know most of us hear the word petco and run the opposite direction, but if you're looking for affordable and quiet give this a shot.

Hey! Have you tried raising the level of your protein skimmer? I find that if I can't dial it back enough to where it doesn't over flow, if I raise it a couple inches, it'll work much better. I used a small flat bowl that I placed upside down in my sump.
