  1. MACNA 14 in Dallas - It's On!

Hey EmilyB: you might consider a nice pair of shorts and a t-shirt. It is still very warm in Texas in late September. I think Brad hit the nail on the head. Fort Worth is a lot more laid back than Dallas. Cindy
  2. Micron bags, and carbon.

Yeah, pantyhose are cheap but since you don't need to fill it with a 'leg full' of carbon...use knee highs. You can get them for 2 pair for $1 and cut them into 3 each. I do use the micron bags though. They are more durable than panty hose. (Speaking from experience!)
  3. live? rocks!

I assume you are starting from the beginning with your tank. If so add all of your rock at once. If you add a little here and a little there you are going to risk the life and health of any livestock and inverts you add to your tank in the meantime with the probable ammonia and nitrite spikes...
  4. Bulb for refugium?

Plant grow lights are great. They are made to grow...plants I use flourescent grow lights which will cut down on heat.
  5. Looking for pics of "Japanese" or "Bonsai&quo

I have to admit these tanks are beautiful. OMG the colors!!! BUT...where's the coralline? Seems like in tanks with that much SPS they would also have a booming coralline population. Why are the pumps perfectly clean? Where are the inevitable feather dusters? Do they use LR like the rest of us...

  9. Wher eTo Get A Clip On Fan??

Have you checked with an office supply store like OfficeMax or Office Depot sometimes the warehouse has things the store doesn't and they can get one in a day or so. How about Wal Mart or K-Mart? From what I have heard they are already stocking lawnmowers for the spring so it is possible they...
  10. 2 Jumpers in 2 weeks! How to cover tank?

Egg crate. It still allows the tank to breathe. The swiss guard would have to hit the holes just right to get out, chances are he wouldn't have made it.
  11. DSB or bare bottom?

I have had a bare bottom for 5 years now. There seems to be a bit more work involved in keeping the bottom clean. I am in the process of setting up a new 75g and plan on having a sandbed. So after the 75g is set-up and running for a while I will be able to compare maintenance issues. Reason for...
  12. Hi, Need Web Page Building Software

I agree with FunkyDazz. If you are looking for actual software and not a site to build the webpage for you. We use Dreamweaver and I have, in the past, used FrontPage. I found FrontPage to have this very bad habit of using code only recognizable by Internet Explorer and left Netscape users out...
  13. Lone Star Coral

I have seen John's set-up and brought home a few frags of his. Extremely helpful! He gets an A+ from me!
  14. Bristle Worms!

Yep. The bigger they are the more detrious they eat
  15. Which rock would you choose

I like aquacultured. But think it's a great idea to get a little of this and a little of that. We do it with our live sand. That way you have a more bio-diverse atmosphere for your critters. I have had rock from Tampa Bay shipped with loads of life left. I have also picked up Fiji from the LFS...
