  1. Reef Putty Drives me nuts!!

I do the same. Works wonders.
  2. FedEx Is Killing My Fish :-(

I had a very small list of specific corals I wanted to include in my current tank. While I did attempt to find local vendors who had some of the species on my list, I mostly struck out because, frankly, the stuff I wanted consisted of oddballs that folks don't carry and don't regularly show up...
  3. FedEx Is Killing My Fish :-(

You're right, my bad. The WI shipment get held up, the LA (Los Angeles) one didn't.
  4. FedEx Is Killing My Fish :-(

I'm actually in the same boat, had two boxes coming from Liveaquaria for delivery saturday. One box from their WI location which got here with no problems, and the second from LA and the divers den that get held up in Memphis due to severe storms. Only one item in that box, a 4" sympodium...
  5. Skeptical about: "Skeptical Reefkeeping Part 2 - Magic in a Bottle By Richard Ross"

November might be iffy, but march I don't have anything likely to pop up. Heh. I'm halfway through a draft of 'Reefkeeping: You're Doing it Wrong' , highlighting where the hobby is worse today than it was 15 years ago. It may just end up as a rant for the Sump.
  6. Ever think about making your hobby into a career?

Hey, I found my current apartment - an immaculate, well maintained 3 bedroom apartment with wood floors, washer/dryer, backyard and garage use in Bay Ridge for $1350/month - on Craigslist. Don't knock it :D On the other hand, that job posting is pure crap.

RIP Terry Bartlme's article writing career. Hi Rich. You're on my half of the country.
  8. BUBBLE-MAGUS Club Thread...

I just added a BM NAC3.5 cone skimmer to my Elos Mini last weekend, replacing the Elos NS100 skimmer that had been on the tank for it's first month of operation. The NAC3.5 fits perfectly in the Mini's sump without having to modify it by removing any of the partitions built into it. Here's a...
  9. Any LFS in Bklyn, Queens or SI with good live rock?

No worries, it's an empty tank. Had a small shipment of rock from Pacific East Aquaculture delivered this morning, but I'm looking to build a specific formation of rock so handpicking the last bits is needed. Whew - Fishtown USA. I think the last time I went there Reagan was still in the white...
  10. Any LFS in Bklyn, Queens or SI with good live rock?

I need some new live rock for a tank I'm setting up (not much, 10-15 more pounds probably) but I'd like to hand pick the pieces. Are there any LFS around the area that stock reasonable live rock? Thanks.
  11. Ok whos reppin brooklyn ...

  12. Blue Zoo Frags..

Yup. Absolutely beautiful. Worth every penny. Thanks again Mike.
  13. What type of skimmer are you using?

Modified venturi, but yeah, close enough. No venturi option in the poll, though.
  14. What type of skimmer are you using?

Nah, I haven't posted any pics yet. It's just running since the weekend, so it's still just breaking in. It's producing, but Roger Vitko (Tunze USA) told me to give it a full week before it hits it's stride. Definitely skims on the wet side, though. Skimmate is very green tea. Gimme a few more...
