anyone know the difference between the standard pH probes versus labgrade or gold series? Is it worth the extra money to buy a better probe? thanks

more info on tank would be helpful, when i had FOWLR i had 10x the turnover rate, so for you 550gph..but if you are running skimmer or have many bends in your return to your tank get a stronger pump also pressure rated. My reef now i shoot for 15-20X turnover. hope this helps

not sure what you mean by "neutralize" but before i installed calc reactor, i used kalk in my makeup water to replenish all my evaporated water. After mixing the kalk in the water i let the powder settle to the bottom of container and made sure none of the residue got back into my tank. Hope...

you will probably upgrade lighting soon. URI is good, but if you do not want to spend that much, just a basic 40W 03 Actinic bulb will do

hellolights.com might be a possibility, champion lighting also, sometimes customaquatic.com has decent deals

on a tank that size i honestly do not think it will affect your ammonia levels too much. obviously, get the dead fish out if you can but if you have an adequate maintence crew (hermits and your CBS) they should suffice. good luck, just my opinion

i agree with SM, when you put in 4 juves, no dominant one yet, eventually a pair might end up dominating but as long as they are together from the beginning i do not think there will be a problem. IMO good luck
