  1. Mouse!

    Not yet, getting traps tonight
  2. Mouse!

Ok, so here we are, midnight, a few days before Christmas, the house decorated, the kitchen about 2 days from being complete after a remodel and 12 guys on the roof putting a new roof on. The dogs are going nuts sniffing around the couch in the living room when I finally get tired of yelling at...
  3. Float switch for MAG Drive

I added as much info (as I could easily get) to the bottom of the page, and cleaned things up a bit... And thanks for the compliments! http://www.sea-quatics.com/topoff
  4. Float switch for MAG Drive

I updated my top off design and added lots of pictures. One thing I should have pointed out is that ALL the circuits I run for my tanks are GFIC. I would never plug in my top off system to a regular outlet. I built a better bracket, and changed the wiring method from the switches to the...
  5. DIY canopy ideas

Same idea, heavier trim... I boxed it all out, them trimmed it just like any other project... http://www.grafics.com/saltwater/stand.htm
  6. Float switch for MAG Drive

You can buy electrical float switches from grainger and Mcmaster for a pretty decent price. I have been "tinkering" very recently with a few ideas and perhaps my stuff will help you. Keep in mind, float switches can be purchased to "turn on" or "turn off" and some (like the ones shown here)...
  7. 180 gallon reef crashed...I'm sick to my stomach...

Sorry to hear it Chip... Quit wondering and start planning the next tank.
  8. Mushrooms and Zoanthids! What should I do?

I too have nathan's problem. I have the now (or should be) patented Durso shrooms. The red ones Rich! They came in on some nice green/orange button polyps I got from Rich a couple years back and they are a nightmare. I just shot up about 50 of them with kalk paste and moved my frogspawn into...
  9. Dang! Heat buildup mania

My tank hit the low 90's after a day or two also. Learned a couple things... No need for covers on a tank, and the second was weeds love heat. I would have to say my critter population exploded after I settled the tank down. http://www.grafics.com/saltwater/sargassum

  11. Plumbing design for my 75Gal Closed loop - need opinions

Welcome to RDO... IMHO Looks good except for a couple of small things to consider. 1. Drop the input for the loop lower. I made mine about 2.5" below drop off level for the return so when I do water changes, or shut off the sump return to work on it (clean skimmer etc), I still have flow in...
  12. Contest #1: LPS Corals

Taken by: CptnJack Title: "Froggy" Camera: Sony DSC-P50 Location: 29G reef Comments: "Almost an accident, had a white PC bulb burn out and the only one I had was a true actinic, so I used it... this was taken under 110W of PC true 03 actinics..."
  13. Anyone know what this is?

These things came in on some Fern Caulerpa. They look like some sort of slug... when I carefully removed one from the basket with hemostats, it turns out it has a hard shell between the head and what appears to be the tail (more foot actually). I have a very small tank so I keep the caulerpa in...
