    i bought someones 75 gal reef setup that has a cpr overflow. now that i know a little more i'm worried about a power failure or other disaster with the overflow. question: can you drill an existing tank for an overflow on the back wall?

    i've read that you need to remineralize ro/di water with a buffer. question: what do you use--specifically what brands?
  6. plenum vs none? sand depth?

    i am new to the hobby and i am setting up a 75 gal with a 40 gal sump. what are the latest thoughts on plenums? how deep a live sand bed in the main tank and the sump if no plenum? also, do you need to light the sump if there is a little live rock in it? thanks for the help.

    sorry i didn't put all the info in the question first time. 75 gal tank. sump will be directly under tank but in the basement. it will be about 12 to 13 feet from sump to the top of the tank. no chiller for simplicity i would prefer to use a submersible pump if possible. what is the curent...
