DI Filter. So I can just buy the bags and put them into a 10" housing and circulate?

Can I circulate salt water through my DI cartridge to remove phosphate from my tank. I have RO/DI for the make up water, but still get green hair algae and those pesky little green anemone looking things. Forgot what they are called
