I have a Gramma that I have had in QT for about three weeks. We had a bout with ick and moved everybody over to the QT tank and have been treating with Hypo. Everybody else seems to be doing fine but my Gramma still scratches. He also seems to have deteriorating flesh around his head. It seems...
We only have a few corals in the tank. We have florida aquacultured rock and have lots of sponges, muscles, cup corals, little star fish and a bunch of other things. So I don't think we could do that.
I have finally purchased the fish that I have looked forward to the most. It is a Blue Hippo Tang that I brought home two days ago. We added her last because we knew about their succeptability to ick and we did not quarantine her to avoid undue stress. We have not added a fish to the tank in...
Thanks for the help. What about the pink cucmber. I am assuming he means a pink knobby cuke. I have heard of a cuke nuke are these more susceptible to this than other cukes?
There have been a few things that I have wanted to add to my tank but I have been putting it off. Now a local reefer is tearing down his tank and is selling some of the stuff that I have been wanting. Here is what I have: 90 Gallon tank with about 90lbs of LR and a 2" to 3" sandbed. Our...
Well I have been searching for some time trying to ID the two types of algae in my tank. I am pretty sure that the one type is diatom. I am still no sure about the other kind. Apparently it is only those of us without digital cameras that have this problem. The algae is mostly on top of the sand...
I have a small sump under my tank and I am thinking about converting it to a fuge. The fuge area would be about 6 inches by 9 inches. Would this be a good move for my 90 gallon? I am planning on purchasing a 30 inch fuge within the next 3 or 4 months. I am hoping to add some macro to try and...
My clowns swam at the very top of the water when we first added them. It was like they were trying to get out some times they would turn on their side and be hidden by the canopy. They were both eating by the second day though. Have you tried adding a little garlic to the food? I would be more...
I don't neccesarily agree with everyone. I have a 75 GPD RO/DI that I bought from aquasafe canada on ebay and it makes about 30 Gallons of RO water in 24 hrs. I bought a 30 Gallon Rubbermaid trash can and I just let the water build in there. It seems to me like you should have your tank filled...
I have what appears to be a Bristle worm. Red in color but at the very tip it opens like the worms on "Tremors" and it has a hook(talon) that comes out. It also has two or three antennas and it is nocturnal. It also seems to have developed a taste for mussels.
I am not saying that it is the best way to do things but I did not scrub mine. I added it to thje tank and cured it with the lights on so no photosythetic life dies off and as we noticed something that was obviously dead we went in and pulled it out. It wasn't the quickest way to cycle probably...
Does anyone have a picture of what the tank looks like at night with the rope lights on? Also, I have 4 4ft VHOs will the heat from them melt the case of the rope light if it is too close to them?
