Thanks for all the feedback! I was going to put them in a reflective hood that I already have. It seems like it's a pretty good I just wanted everyone's opinions.
Thanks again,
Eric
Is it normal for them to shrink up throughout the day? He was open for the first part of the day and then shrunk up later on and then returns to normal again. Is this just because he's acclimating? Thanks!
Seems to be doing well since I've only had him in for a little over 24hrs. I'm currently running 4x65w pc's over a 55 gal tank. He looks like he's doing fine on the bottom though. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Sorry for the dirty glass (i've been lazy so far today) :)
The setup:
55gal, 50 lbs live rock, wet dry filter, skimmer (not the best but it works ok)
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0
Salinity: 1.026
All the parameters are in good shape. The tank has been up and running for a little over two months. I have a false percula, arrow crab, and...
I looked at my tank this morning and found a hermit crab carcus wedged between the glass and a small rock. There is no sign of his shell. Is that what happens when they molt or did someone just beat him up and take his shell. The only things I have in the tank are hermits and snails.
Thanks...
really, i thought that when it gave off ammonia it was because things were dying in the tank??? If it is still alive then more power too it because it looked like it had some cool stuff on there. It definately had some caluerpa and some sponges so maybe i'll get something back. Just have to wait...
I don't really know how I can adjust my skimmer any further. It runs off of a rio 600 and you can adjust the air valve for more or less bubbles. How should I adjust it then?
I have a 55 gallon aqarium with a wet/dry filter. It has a 9 gallon sump and a crappy little protein skimmer. I just put about 50lbs of live rock in the tank yesterday and unfortunately I think most of it is dead.
I'm wondering as to whether or not I should use the skimmer while it is cycling...
