I am probably not the best advice here but,
It looks like you tank may still be cycling. Was the rock you put in base rock or live rock? I can't see any coraline. If I had to guess I would say your tank is to immature to house corals. It also looks like you could use some flow. I dont see...
Thanks for the advice. I never really thought I could get two orders for the same price as the other. :P I think that is exactly what I will do. I have one sally lightfoot in my tank already do you think mixing crabs is a good idea? There is lots of rock but I wasn't sure if they were...
I need to get a new reef cleaner package. Right now I have some mexican turbos, a ton of baby turbos, a sally lightfoot crab and that is about it. I need to get a cleaner group together. I need it to mostly eat detirius and hair algae. I would take suggestions if you have them on sites or...
LA said it very well.
I'll let you know what I think
Buy the best skimmer you can afford it is worth it.
Buy the best light you can afford. Go metal halide if you can swing it. I went PC with the most wattage I could get and 2 years later I wish I would have spent the extra to get the best...
My Koran Angel whipped out my whole colony about dollar bill sized in a month. He was impossible to satisfy. He ate nori, flake, and brine at that same time I couldn't get him to leave it alone. Cleaned the bases right off the rock.
I bought a couple of these when my order for sea hares got canceled due to lack of supply at liveaquaria. They have done a very good job on my hair algae but I have been about ready to kill them. I took about 2 years to get a good looking build up of coraline on the back glass of my tank. And...
Just my opinion but I think you need to clean your skimmer. I have a 100 gallon and my skimmer goes through phases like yours and then I give it a good cleaning and the foam comes pouring out again.
Just my 2 cents though
So I have a had a golden Dendronephthya for about a month and a half now. I love it. Right now it is on about a baseball sized rock that I take out about every week and put in a small 2 1/2 gallon tank with a power head and add phyto to the tank. I gets all furry and sweet and i let it sit in...
I tried to do the same as you knuckle but my clarki's keeping uncovering the bottom of the rocks in front and pushing the sand right backup into a couple of piles in front of the glass. I think they do it just to spite me though. :)
knowse...
I still can't picture what these things actually look like can you explain a bit? Is it just a slug? Do they move very fast? Do they go on the glass too or just the rocks and sand? And have you ever seen one ink?
So i tore down the tank this last weekend and did some PIA maintanence. I noticed I was starting to get a good amount of turf algae in the low flow areas in between rocks and in crevaces. It didn't bother me at first but then I realized that if I didn't take some action in a couple of months...
My brown and black chocolate chip ate a palm sized leather in one night. :x Of course he got booted to the inlet of the refegium now he just eats stuff off the glass.
