We are gearing up for the annual all Ohio frag swap. Here is the thread found in the central Ohio reef club forum >frag swap
this will be held at the Ohio theater in columbus. lots of room, tables for everyone and easy parking (cash bar :) ). these are wonderful events for hobbyist of all...
do a search on www.thereeftank.com there was quite a thread running on the RCSD. had nice diagrams and all. I was going to try this on my tank but never did.
I am going to be setting up a 40 breder soon as well. I had to order the tank, they just called yesterday to let me know its in :D . I will probably drill it and install an overflow, I am still undecided on that yet. I am going to use the 150 watt HQI 20 k and a couple of vho actinc.
I run 8 ounces of black diamond in a magnum HOT filter (sounds like a marineland plug). I am using 400 watt iwasakis and if it is not in there the tank will look yellow. FWIW the "regent" brand carbon at wal mart is the same thing as black diamond and a bit cheaper.
I think Matt is keeping that to much of a secret . I do have flat worms and would like to get rid of the buggers. I dont think I am going to drop 30 on a nudi that has a poor shipping record tho.
Rohna the frag swap is April 13 in the Akron/canton area. last swap (and the first) was in...
hmmmm. that sounds promising. I have heard of such a nudi but never actually saw one available. I am going to check it out. I am sure there are others with FW that would be willing to take the nudi once its job is complete.

I had talked with someone who tried the oyster shells. He said it made the PO4 spike and had a nasty algae bloom. crushed coral will work very well and is pretty cheap too....
I have them as well. I really cant see any harm other than their very ugly appearance. Mine seem to come and go. Someone else had noticed they are more common in tanks that receive heavy feedings. I would rather not have them in my tank, and I am really not sure where they came from. Mine stay...
