I have found that using high RPM with acrylic will just melt it and make a mess. I use a moderately slow RPM with a drill ground for cutting plastic, sheet metal, etc.

go to www.mcmaster.com and search for snap grip hose clamps. They have double snap grips in many sizes, up to over 2", and are dirt cheap; way cheaper than LFS. They also have the stainless clamps with stainless screws, not the zinc plated like what it sounds like you have.

I found out that it is indeed a bumble bee shrimp, a relative of the harlequin shrimp. The only hitch is that it has a specialized diet of sea urchin tube feet. Unless it happens to feed on something else in the tank, it will most likely starve to death. Too bad, as it is pretty cool looking.

Got a chunk of rock from LFS and had a stowaway on board. He looks like he's from the mantis type shrimp family. He's about a half inch long and striped in yellow, white and black, like a bee. LFS says bumble bee shrimp, imagine that. He comes out during the daylight and doesn't seem to bother...
