I picked it up brand new in the box from someone on reef central for 100.00 I think they run 160.00 - 180.00 new. I am going with VHO as soon as I can afford it. The VHO set up including bulbs and ice cap ballast will run me 240.00 and then I have to build a canopy. VHO's are too damn high...

i use a 96 watt power quad over my 10 gallon. There is really no heat coming off the bulb. Its a good light.

you could reduce to 1.5 lbs per gallon or even try 1 lb per gallon if you have a nice deep live sand bed. Try what I did. Toss chunks into your power filter.

Here is what I would do. Buy the finest grain sand you can if you can not afford true live sand from someplace. I would then order like 5 lbs of live sand from premiumaquatics and a bottle of roti-pods.

with 96 watt pendant I wanted to post this picture which is a month old. Ok. Notice how Brown this Acro piece is. Now look down at the last image and see the color difference. That's because I went from 2 - 36 watt PC to a 96 watt powerquad. Notice the Brown changed to Bright green...

Just curious. How much money do you have in that tank? and what do you do for a living... I need to get into your line of work.

I have to agree. ohhhh the money I have spent on power compacts... I should have gone Halide many moons ago. PC's are a money pit but they do look nice. If I had to do it all over again I would for sure get halide.

I would skip the skimmer, go with a 12inch CPR Refugium and do a weekly one gallon water change. Greg
