I have had good results with Holdfast and Aquastic epoxy. Be ready for your skimmer to go nuts. I do a 20% water change and turn the skimmer down. It will come around in a couple of days.
I would like to add some old dead "live"rock that has been boiled and wrapped in newspaper for some time. It is just a couple pieces of old Tonga, less than a pound, that will just fit into my existing rockwork. My reef has been up and running for almost a year and doing great. a LFS here...
Mine did the exact same thing after using some of the coraline colored epoxy to secure some frags. I corrected mine by doing a 20% water change and ran the skimmer at a very low rate. It finally started working after about three days.
I use this recommended method of calibrating and reading my refractometer. I use a known salinity solution for calibration. My refractometers are then right on. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-06/rhf/index.php
I have used Coralife salt now for 10 months and I like it. It is always consistent. For what it's worth, the stack of IO bags are high at my lfs, but there are usually only a few buckets of Coralife.
I read some where that B. cardinals and PJ cardinals were nocturnal. I feed mine frozen food about one hour after the lights turn off. The tank is not completely dark, just some room lights and TV on. My PJ are doing great. 10 months now.

I have been using a Prizm for 8 months now, on a 30 gal reef. I think it works great as long as you keep it clean. ie: the air intake, impeller, and the cup. If mine starts to puff and huff I unplug it wait a few seconds and plug it back in and re adjust it. This might sound like a lot of...
Hi, on 04/14/06 I asked for opinions on using a refractomer vs a swing arm hydrometer. I received many responses, thank you. As I stated in my earlier topic I ordered one that day via the internet. I received it today. WOW.....What a difference. MY two hydrometers both read 1.025. The...
I would like some advice regarding using a refractometer vs a swinging arm type hydrometer. I have a 30 gal reef that is seven months old. I have been using a Deep Six swing arm all along, but after reading about refrac's I was wondering if I should make the step or not. If so what type? Thank...
