I have some of the "tulip anemones" posted above. They don't burn other corals and get to about the size of a silver dollar before they split. They split rather infrequently without direct feeding too.

The knob alters the length of the pulse, as well as the timing in between pulses. I believe all the way to the left is shorter pulses, and all the way to the right is longer pulses. The knob only affects modes W1, W2, and W3. I'll quote myself here with the instructions I found online:

Yes, I have the dimmer plugged into the DC jack of the controller, and the power supply plugged into the dimmer. The modulator/dimmer has an "off" setting that the knob clicks when it turns off. The dimmer is supposed to gradually change the power from 0% to 100%, which it would seem to do...
