I've been using it a little over a year. Works great at keeping PO4 down. I change mine every 3-4 months. I use 500ml on my total system volume of around 280 gallons.

Yup. That's the reason for the minimum flow rates. Not enough flow and it can ice up and crack the coil housing.

I use controllers. Never used the built in thermostat controller on the heater. Never really understand why someone with thousands of dollars in their tank wouldn't put a controller for their heaters and/or chiller. Basically I have the heaters turned all the way up and the controller turns it...

I'd say the new lighting as well. Regardless of that thread, changing lamps to a new brand could always cause big problems. Better to over compensate but cutting back on the photo period than not, IMO.

OK. Came home at 6 PM and looked at the tank. Looked over all my acros. I couldn't find any red bugs, not one. I checked a few acros that had at least 8-10 bugs on one branch. I didn't see anything. Then I checked the rest of the tank. One acro crab on a yellow A. tenuis was hanging on to a...

Yeah the crabs came from wild acros. But I have at least two acros that came with 3 acro crabs in them to begin with. I think in the wild they help the coral, but serve no defensive purposes in the acros once they are in our tanks. Cool critters though.

Yeah, I didn't think I would miss much. I also thought about removing the acro crabs, but I'm not sure if they will reintroduce the red bugs if removed. So we'll see what happens with them. It will be a shame if they all die, I've got a bunch of them maybe 12-15 in the whole system.

Don't know anything about coil denitrification. What are you using for filtration? A BB tank can have nitrate problems. A DSB should have no nitrates.

Got my medication yesterday, crushed it up and had the local pharmacy weight it for me this morning. I'll be dosing today at 12:30, then I have to go back to work so I won't be able to observe anything till 5:30-6:00 PM. Wish me luck!!
