Looking to ID this hitchhiker. About 1-2 inch looks like a snail of some kind. White with a shell on a portion of back. Not a shell it can crawl into.

Is there a general rule for a return pump? I have heard of things like 7-1 turnover per hour. So a 100 gallon tank needs 700 gph pump? Any thoughts?
