  1. Hydroids?

I've got a ton of 'em and would like to deal with them ASAP. Any ideas (aside from kalking them which is extremely difficult as they typically eminate from inside holes that are tough to get a hypo into)?
  2. Five Bar mystery wrasse

I have had one for over 2 years. He has grown from a 2 1/2 inch juvi to a 5 inch monster. The white bars have gone away and he is peaceful to everone including inverts, with the exeption being he lets his fellow wrasses (juvi tusk and a several year-old 6-line) know he is the boss on occasion...
  3. We're so screwed part 1 (return plumbing)

Yes, the tank is full of livestock. Thanks for your responses. Sounds like I will have to breakdown the sump and redrill the hole. Its amazing that after all this time, new things still pop up that makes me detest the LFS that set up the system even more.
  4. We're so screwed part 1 (return plumbing)

Upped my return pump to an Iwaki WMD40RLXT from a smaller pump. Sump (Amiracle) was drilled with 3/4" bulkhead feeding the pump (6" straight to the pump) and the return tees off to a 1" through the chiller and a 3/4" through an oceanclear carbon filter. Now experiencing cavitation/microbubbles...
  5. Pics of my new juvi. Harlequin Tusk

As the other one is gone, amazingly a LFS in the area (defined loosely as I was in the car for 2 hrs each way) had another juvinile. Been 3 days and he's eating like a pig although my mystery and 6-line (nasty bugger) have him confined to a foot of swimming on the far left side of my 150...
  6. Pics of my new juvi. Harlequin Tusk

Convinced he's gone. I'd been waiting a looong time for a juvi too. May have been food for the 12 inch diameter rose-bubble tip the clowns call home, but I'd be surprised. Other option is Dr. Evil the purple lobster that I can't get out of the friggin tank. Too smart for all 4 commercial...
  7. Pics of my new juvi. Harlequin Tusk

Still missing and I'm getting worried. Tank (up for over 2 years) is stocked with: Med purple tang Med chevron tang small goldflake angel Med blueface angel Mystery wrasse 6-line wrasse A couple of green chromis Bengai cardinal pair of gold-stripe maroons Sm Royal gramma (new addition) I'm...
  8. Pics of my new juvi. Harlequin Tusk

They all have the bland coloration as juveniles. As for mine, no luck in the overflows and nothing on the carpet. Either hes hiding bc its a new tank or he was food for Dr. Evil, the purple lobster which is possible but hopefully not the case. Have they typically hid after introduction?
  9. Pics of my new juvi. Harlequin Tusk

Sharkky, I just (yesterday) put my juvinile tusk in my 150 mixed reef and haven't seen him since. Did yours hide for a while?
  10. NYC mated pair of H Reidis for sale

They are eating ghost shrimp. Shipping might not be economical as a LFS has offered 80-90. Would be willing to part for roughly the same. (They cost me $135+shipping. Have the eel, hasn't been eating. What are you feeding yours?
  11. NYC mated pair of H Reidis for sale

Taking down my seahorse tank. Anyone interested?
  12. Update on IPSF review....

One word "aptasia". Good thing its only in the refugium which ONLY had the IPSF stuff in it, so it souldn't have come from anywhere else. Caveat Emptor. I've been picking them out with a tweezers.
  13. 5 Bar/ Mystery Wrasse -> Pseudochelinus ocellatus...

I have had one for several months and never had a problem. He typically, like a 6-line (same family), hunts for pods during the day and will greedily eat frozen preparations and flakes. I am suprised anyone has had a problem.
  14. gorgonian problem

I have what I believe to be a photsynthetic gorgonian. (Purple with yellow polyps that extend during the day). It has been slowly wasting away over the last three weeks and has what appears to be mini-brittle stars wrapped around the stalks. They appear to be black with white bands...
  15. Dwarf golden moray eel

It is indeed the milliaris although the initial salewoman adamantly claimed it was a "dwarf golden moray". Sort of scary considering I've ordered from them and been quite pleased. The "supervisor" was knowledgable and set it straight.
