Yup, the tank sits on top of the shelf with my drinking spigot next to it. It is a 4 gallon bladder tank that holds 3.2 gallons of water. My system has been hooked up for a couple of weeks now and has been working great! As dupaboy does, I think I might add another tank for extra storage...

I used 1 5/8" for the line coming into the sump and 3/4" for the return. The return tee is there to let water flow directly back into the sump. The return pump will be so strong that water will go back into the main tank faster than it will drain into the sump. You "start" the overflow going...

I would use flex as well. Just look at my photos in the link a few replies above: You use hard pvc and put a tee at the return pump output with a ball valve on the side going back into the sump You can put a ball valve on the sump inlet side but run it wide open - you only close it for service

You should get a pressure gauge and you might find that you need a booster pump. I have the same unit as you with the carbon filter (for drinking water), a permeate pump and a TDS meter. I'm putting out almost 100gpd at an average of 50lbs of water pressure.

What type of skimmer do you have? Did the power go out or your overflow get plugged? How is your sump configured? A plausible cause: The skimmer return got clogged causing too much pressure, which results in the water in your collection cup filling.

I called them, described the problem and three day slater I have a free replacement air silencer. I can manually suck and blow air through both holes, so the original one was clearly plugged - I could probably just drill it out. So now the skimmer works perfect! I can't believe the difference...

X: Yeah, I didn't mean to say liteerally equal pressure, but enough "weight" from the water pushing on both sides to stop the lexan from bowing. Thanks for the mesh info - I need something for it. Is it like a screen door screen, but made out of plastic, like a needlepoint board?
